Find or Create Salesmate contacts from new Facebook Lead Ads leads
Whenever your Facebook Lead ads capture information, you need to go through a cumbersome process of exporting them from Facebook (it lets you keep the information up to 90 days) and importing it to your CRM. Now save your time by automating this tedious process. Zapier will automatically fetch the vital information and store it in Salesmate as a new contact or update it if a similar contact already exists in your database.
Note: Zapier’s Facebook Leads Ads Zap is a Premium app. To use it, you’ll need a Zapier paid plan.
Setup your Facebook Lead Ad:
To ensure you collect the most useful information from leads, the fields included in your Lead Ad form should match the fields with your Salesmate Contacts details. You can add custom fields to Salesmate as required and capture the relevant information.
Before you begin creating your lead ads campaign, we advise having someone from your legal team review the questions you plan to ask on your form, as well as go over the lead ads policies and terms of service. Once you're ready, make sure you also have:
- Access to your business's Facebook Page.
- The URL to your business's privacy policy.
- An image for your ad.
CAMPAIGN
- Go to your Ads Manager or Power Editor.
- In Ads Manager, click Create Ad in the top right.
- In Power Editor, click Create Campaign in the top left.
- Choose Collect leads for your business as your ad objective, and choose the Page from the drop-down menu.
- Review the Lead Ad Terms of Service and click Agree.
- Enter a campaign name and click Set Audience & Budget.

AD
- Add text and images or video for your ad. We recommend providing more context, as you'll be asking people to take a specific action. For more of our best practices, click here.
- Add a Call To Action button, and choose a Conversion Tracking Pixel if necessary.
- Under What information do you want to collect from people? click Create New Form.
- Give your form a name and select a language. Keep in mind that the language you choose here is the language your audience will view your form in.
- Under Show Advanced Options you can choose to:
- Edit field IDs to change the column names for your data when you export your leads.
This may be useful if your CRM requires specific column names to receive your leads. - Include organic leads when you download your leads. Choose this to include leads from people who see the ad because they've been tagged in the comments or have completed a form when viewing an ad preview in Ads Manager or Power Editor.
- Edit field IDs to change the column names for your data when you export your leads.
- Click Next and add a context card.
- Under What information would you like to ask for?, note that Full name and Email address are already selected. More options can be selected, if desired.
You can also use this section to create custom questions.
- When you're finished adding questions — to a maximum of three — click Next.
- Add a link to your privacy policy and any additional disclaimers you may have, then click Next.
Note that there is no character limit for the disclaimer. - Enter the website URL you wish people to go to after they complete your form, then click Next.
- Navigate through your form preview and make any necessary changes.
- Click Create Form.
After you set up your Lead Ad, test it to see how it appears on desktop and mobile devices.
