This step checks for interactions with email and moves contact to next action.
How to use this conditional step?
- Let's drag-drop the Check email status condition step on the journey's canvas.
- Click on the step to choose from the email template and condition which you want to verify.
Type of available actions are:
- Is Read
- Is Clicked
- Is Sent
- Is Replied
This step has two output ports.
- Yes: When action matches
- No: When action doesn't match
Once The contact reaches this step, it will be checked against this condition and will be forwarded to the next step immediately.
Note: It is not required to connect both the output ports, but we suggest using Exit action when you don't want to record to continue the journey. It gives you a better idea of the record journey while checking action logs or timeline entries.
Use Case
- Suppose you want to send a series of emails to the contact added to the subscriber list.
- In this example, we trigger the journey when contact is added to the list, and we check if the welcome message is already sent or not using the Email Check Condition.
- If it's previously sent, we can exit the automation; otherwise, we can send the email. Now the system will wait for two days and check if the email was read or not using the Email check condition. If not read, then the journey will send the following email.
- We can repeat the process and create a series of drip emails to nurture the newly subscribed contact.
