We thought the email tracker would work only if the customer opens the email. 

But if we open the email ourselves (in salesmate or gmail), salesmate says that the customer opened, so we can't trust exaclty if the person is interested or not in our email.

  Hi Chris,

   

  We use an image-based tracking mechanism ( as per industry standard ) to capture read information. 

   

  Whenever you send an email and if the receiver server is Gmail then you get a spontaneous notification about the email being read. 

   

  As per Gmail's new policy, they download all images from the email as soon as the email is received and afterward they serve the images from their caches.  

   

  If you search on google about "Gmail serves images from cache" you will find the same issue stated with every email tracking service.
