Import:: Please allow us to import without forcing us to also include "required" fields
CompletedPlease give us the choice to override whether we want to important regardless if we have a custom field that is required or not.
Currently I need to do mass updated to records and I provide the salesmate id in order to do that.. but then I get a screen that stops me.
So what does a determined user like me do? I go custom fields, make them not required, go back to import, re-upload the file, finisih the import, then go back to custom fields to make them required.
Please give admins more power to override this. No sense in making us go through so many steps when a simple override question asking us if its ok to import even though we have required fields misising etc.

With our new import engine, you can easily import the data without mapping all the fields.
Here is more information about new import engine :)

Oh, and I forgot to mention... Why ask for company name upon import??? Makes no sense. I already provided the company salesmate id... there should be no need to ask me for company name just because its a required field.
What if I am working on massaging data in excel and it takes me a few days to do then by the time I am ready to import another user has updated the names of some of the same companies in my excel data manipulation... let's say they corrected some misspelled names and typos for company name... then my import which is aimed at updating company data will now OVERWRITE the company name back to the misspelling or typo (since when I exported from salesmate it was the old name, but since then another user corrected it).
Do you see the problem?
Thanks for taking a serious look at this.

AND... I also just noticed another BIG issue.
If I want to import data as a means of mass updating records and I fail to provide the owner info (even though I do NOT want to update the owner info) it will overwrite records with a default owner if I don't explicitly declare one.
I think Salesmate team needs to make a distinction between a "New Data Import" vs "Mass Update Data" type of import, where the behavior and required fields are different for each.
Again, if all I want to update are records specific fields, I am forced to bring in data such as company name and owner when I have no desire or intention of updating them, Nor do I want to update them since that specific data may have changed between the time I exported and time I re-imported.

Please FIX these import issues as described above. Been waiting for 7 days and constantly having to update custom fields from required to not required just to do imports, then re-enable them to required afterwards to ensure my reps fill out important data.
Also, importing updating ownership unless I provide owner is infuriating. Already cost me several import redos.
If I DO NOT pass a owner into the import it should IGNORE that field and not change it when doing a mass update. The option above for ownership should have an option of "IGNORE"
