Custom Field: Select type field always defaulting to first option - should instead be "please select"

    We are working on setup and form changes which will cover up this requirement.  We assume it should be available towards the end of January.

    Now it's 3 years later, but still sort of the same problem. 
    There is no point in having the field mandatory when it automatically selects the first option when it is mandatory.

    We are using one field to determine language of the customer, so it is mandatory. But since the system pre-select Danish, it will not give a warning if they do not change it.

    I created a work around so that an Activity is created if the language is the default one, but it would be really nice to get this fixed.
