What to do when contacts move companies (general advice sought)
This is a general advice request - rather than an enhancement to Salesmate.
There does not seem to be a general user forum for Salesmate - hence I am posting here. If there is a better forum apologies and please advise what that is.
My question is - what to users of Salesmate (or other CRMs for that matter) do when a contact moves companies, but you want to retain their history of previous interactions, as well as capturing new interactions?
My best idea so far is to keep their old details (company etc), then have a field that marks that person as superseded, and generate a new record for the same person (but with their new details).
I have thought of adding a field to link the old record to the new record (and I guess I could do it vice versa as well).
However this does not give the ability to view (on one page) all the interactions for that person whilst they have been at both companies.
Also it means that the superseded "person" will continue to appear in searches (but I realise I can filter they out of table views).
Any ideas / thoughts / suggestions from the community on how you have solved this?
