Custom Module Roles & Permission play an important role in the security arena.
Note: The User with Admin rights by default would have all permissions.
In Salesmate, we are going to have the following permissions for Custom Module.
- The permissions can be configured in two ways:
Module Level Permissions:
This allows users to configure profile-level permissions to create, view, edit, and delete records within the module.
This can be done by following the below steps:
- Navigate to the Profile icon on the top right corner
- Click on the Setup
- Head over to the Modules category
- Click on the Module Permission.
Or
- Head over to Users & Security
- Click on Profile Permissions
- Under Standard Profile Click on Edit
- Here, go to Module Level Permission
- Select the Module
- You can assign the following permissions:
- Tab Visibility: This allows users to display the custom module in the sidebar.
- View: This allows users to allow users to view records.
- Create: This allows users to allow users to create records.
- Edit: This allows users to allow users to update/edit records.
- Delete: This allows users to allow users to delete records.
Field Level Permissions:
This allows users to configure Field-Level permissions to create, view, edit, and delete fields within the module.
This can be done by following the below steps:
- Navigate to the Profile icon on the top right corner
- Click on the Setup
- Head over to the Modules category
- Select the Custom Module
- Click on the All Fields tab.
- Under the Access Column, you can set the Field Permission.
- Here, you can view the Permission set for particular fields.
- To change the Permission click on the Permission that has already been set.
- Click on Save.
