WhatsApp Message Templates are pre-approved, structured messages required for initiating conversations with customer
To Create WhatsApp Templates,
- Navigate to the Conversation Inbox Icon from the left menu bar
- Click on Chats
- Head over to the Chat Settings
- Click on the Channels
- Head to the Connected Channels and click on the preferred WhatsApp channel
- Select the number you wish to create the template for and click on the three dots
- Select Manage Template option
- You will be directed to a screen where you will see the templates of this number.
- Click on Create Template option to create a new template
Here you need to enter the following details,
- Template Name: Provide a name for your message template.
- Category: Choose a category that best describes your message template.
- Marketing: Select this option to send promotions or information about your products, services, or business.
- Utility: Send messages about an existing order or account.
- Language: Choose languages for your message template that you want to add as translation.
- Header: Add a title or choose the type of media that you will use for the header. If you select the variable within the Header you would need to provide the Sample Variable Value. You can select from the following options.
- None: Selected By default
- Text: Enter the text for your template
- Media: You can add an Image, Video or a Document
Note: The supported Images, Videos and Document by Twilio and Vonage
- Image
- For Twilio: JPG, JPEG, PNG
- For Vonage: JPG, JPEG, PNG
- Video
- For Twilio: MP4 (with H.264 video codec and AAC audio)
- For Vonage: Video/mp4
- Document
- For Twilio/Vonage: Application/pdf
- File Size Limit

The maximum file size template is 16MB.

The maximum size for an image is 5 MB

- Body: Add the text for your message here in the language you have selected.
- Footer: Add the line that should appear at the bottom of your Template
- Buttons: Create buttons that let your customers respond quickly or perform an action. You can select from the following options
- None: No buttons included.
- Quick Reply: Predefined response options for customers to choose from.
- Call to Action: Buttons prompting customers to take specific actions, such as clicking a link or making a purchase.
- Preview: As you configure the message template options, you'll see a real-time preview of the message template displayed in a WhatsApp chat window on the right side of the screen.
- Hit the Save button to save the template message with your current changes for the selected languages.
- Once done click on Save and Submit
- Once your template is approved, you will gain access to use it.
