Salesmate allows you to store different kinds of data within your CRM. These field types are used to define the format and characteristics of the information collected and stored in various records within different Modules
Available Fields Types:
- Text
- Text Fields type of data field allows users to input and store alphanumeric characters, such as names, addresses, descriptions, comments, or any other free-form text, within a single entry point. Character limit is 255
- Long Text
- Allows for longer text entries, suitable for descriptions or comments.
- This field type is ideal for capturing comprehensive information or qualitative data. Character limit is 2000
- Integer
- Integer fields store numerical data without decimal points, representing whole numbers like quantities, quantities. They are commonly used for counting, indexing, or representing discrete values within a system. Character limit should be between 2147483647 to 2147483648
- Big- Integer
- Big-Integer is just like Integer, but it can handle really big numbers. So, if you have numbers that are too large for a regular Integer to handle, you can use Big-Integer instead. Character limit is 999999999999999
- Decimal
- Decimal is used for numbers that have decimal points, like money or measurements. It's great for when you need to be really precise in your calculations or record-keeping.
- URL
- A URL is like the street address for a website. It's what you put in your web browser to find and visit a specific webpage on the internet.
- Date
- Recording specific calendar dates is essential for organizing events and keeping track of schedules.
- This Field Type allows you to enter and store these dates precisely
- Date & Time
- Captures both date and time information together, providing more precise timestamps
- In forms, they are used to allow visitors to input a specific date in a consistent format.
- Select
- Select Fields type provide a convenient way to select options from a predefined list
- Users can simply click on the dropdown, choose their desired option, and the system records their selection automatically.
- Multi-Select
- Allows for selecting multiple options from a predefined list
- It's useful when things can belong to multiple categories. For example, if you're asked about hobbies, you can choose "Reading," "Hiking," and "Cooking" all at once to show everything you like to do.
- Percentage
- Percentage fields display numbers as percentages, which are often used to show proportions or ratios.
- For example, if you have a percentage field and enter "50," it will display as "50%"—indicating half of something. It's a simple way to express relative values in terms of parts out of a whole.
- Boolean
- Boolean fields store binary values, commonly representing options like true/false or yes/no.
- For example if you wish to know whether your Contacts would prefer to receive the Newsletters or not
- Currency
- Currency fields store values with currency symbols, such as dollars ($), euros (€), or pounds (£)
- For example, if you enter "100" into a currency field with the dollar symbol, it will display as "$100."
- Formula
- Formula fields perform calculations based on values from other fields or predefined formulas, automating data analysis and processing.
- For example, if you have fields for quantity and price, a formula field can calculate the total cost by multiplying the quantity and price values together. Learn More

- Look-Up fields establish connections between records within different Modules, enabling relationships between them. Learn More
- Phone
- This Field type allows you to store different types of phone numbers, like landline, mobile, or fax. You can even create your own types.
- Email
- This Field type allows lets you store email addresses. It helps with sending messages or notifications to the right email addresses when needed.
- Rating
- The rating field can be useful in many cases where you want to capture or rate the satisfaction levels, products, or services.

- The timezone field allows users to specify their preferred timezone within their profile settings or when setting up appointments, tasks, or events.
- This field ensures that all time-related information within the CRM, such as scheduled meetings or follow-up reminders, is displayed accurately according to the user's timezone preference.
