Allow Attaching Files to your Webform Submissions Follow

The File Upload Field is a powerful addition to Salesmate Webforms, enabling users to collect and associate files with their CRM records seamlessly. This feature is perfect for capturing supplementary information, such as documents, images, or other file types, directly from leads and customers during form submission.

How to Configure the File Upload Field

To create a Fiel Upload field, you can follow the steps listed down below

  • Navigate to More Icons on the left menu bar.
  • Click on Forms
  • Hover over the Form name.
  • You will see the "Action" button >> Click on it and select the Edit Form option.
  •  

  • Hit Add Custom Questions.

  • Quickly search or Select the Upload field under the field type.

  • After clicking on the Upload type field, a pop-up will open where you can set up the following things:
    • Field Lable: Provide field name for your reference
    • Internal Name: Define the internal name for API integrations
    • Help Text: Define Help Text to provide additional information to help your teammates understand the purpose of the field.
    • File Type: Select the file type that will be supported to upload.
    • Tag(s): Add tags to identify the file uploaded through this field.

  • When it's finished, hit save.

Supported File Types

Salesmate supports many file formats for upload, enabling businesses to collect relevant files from customers, such as documents, images, or spreadsheets. Below is the comprehensive list of supported file types:

  • CSV
  • XLSX
  • XLS
  • ODS
  • JPG
  • JPEG
  • PNG
  • WEBP
  • PDF
  • DOCX
  • DOC
  • OPD
  • PPTX
  • PPT
  • ODT

Users can specify which file types are allowed during form configuration. If the uploaded file type doesn't match the allowed types, the system displays an error: "File type not allowed."

 

File Upload Size Limits

Once you have added the Upload option in your Salesmate form, you can upload files up to 20 MB per upload field. If a file exceeds this limit, the user will see the error "File too large. The maximum allowed size is 20MB."

However, if you have selected the "Allow Multiple Files" under the web form for the upload field then the user will be able to add "5 Files" to that field.

Number of Upload Fields Supported

Each web form can include a maximum of 5 File Upload Fields. If you attempt to add another file upload field after reaching this limit, an alert message will be displayed:
"You can add up to 5 file upload fields. Remove one to add another."

Viewing and Managing Uploaded Files

Files submitted through web forms can be easily accessed and managed within Salesmate. You can view the uploaded files in the View Submissions screen, where all form responses are displayed.

Additionally, these files are automatically associated with the selected modules (e.g., Contacts, Companies, Deals) and can be found in the Files widget of the corresponding records for quick reference and organization.
