How to Configure Mailchimp
Step 1: Configure
This step defines how data moves between Salesmate and Mailchimp, which contacts are synced, and how conflicts are resolved.
Sync Direction: Select one of the following from the dropdown:
- Mailchimp to Salesmate: One-way sync; Mailchimp is the source
- Salesmate to Mailchimp: One-way sync; Salesmate is the source
- Bidirectional: Two-way synchronization between both platforms
Audience Mapping: Map a Salesmate List to a Mailchimp Audience to define which groups of contacts are synced.
Create missing records in Salesmate: Automatically create new contacts in Salesmate if they don't already exist.
When "Create missing records in Salesmate" is enabled, you must also select a Default Record Owner for newly created contacts.
If duplicate rules are active for the Contacts module, they will not apply here. The email address is used as the unique identifier for matching.
How to solve data conflict:
This setting determines which platform acts as the source of truth when a contact exists in both systems with conflicting field values.
- Salesmate: Salesmate data overwrites conflicting values in Mailchimp
- Mailchimp: Mailchimp data overwrites conflicting values in Salesmate
Step 2: Field Mapping
This step ensures data populates the correct fields across both platforms.
The Field Mapping Table displays Mailchimp Fields alongside their corresponding Salesmate Fields.
Once Step 2 is complete, review your configuration and click Start Sync to begin the initial sync.
Once the initial sync is complete, the Mailchimp App Detail screen serves as the central hub for the integration.
Audience Actions (hover or menu):
- View Members: Opens a list of all contacts within the synced audience pair, showing Name (click to open quick view), Email, Subscription Status, and Last Updated date
- View Field Mapping: Opens a modal showing the field-to-field mapping defined for that audience
- Sync Now: Manually triggers an immediate sync based on the configured rules
- Delete Sync: Permanently removes the sync connection for that audience pair
- Export Failed Records: Downloads a CSV of records that failed to sync, along with the reason
How to Reauthorize Mailchimp
- Click the Reauthorize option in the Mailchimp app screen
- You will be redirected to the Mailchimp Installed App screen

- Navigate to the Profile icon on the top right corner
- Click on Setup
- Head over to Apps & Add-ons
- Find Mailchimp App under Installed Apps.
