You can export responses received through a survey into a CSV file if you’d like to analyze the data further or share it with your team. To do this, make sure you have the required permission to Export Surveys.
How to export survey responses
- Navigate to the Surveys section in Salesmate
- Click on the name of the survey you want to export the responses for.
- On the survey details screen, navigate to the Actions menu, and select 'Export responses to CSV'.
- A pop-up will appear asking you to select a date range for the responses you'd like to export.
- By default, it selects the last 30 days, but you can choose from:
- Yesterday
- Last 3 days
- Last 7 days
- Last 15 days
- Last 30 days
- Last 90 days
- Custom range (you can pick any past date, but not a future one)
- Once you've selected the date range, click on Export.
- You’ll see a confirmation message:
“Data is being exported. You will get an email to download the file.”
What happens next?
- A CSV file with your survey responses will be sent to your registered email address.
- You’ll also get a notification (the bell icon) in your Salesmate account. Clicking on it will instantly download the file.
Note
- Limit on responses: You can export up to 10,000 responses in one go. If you need more, use filters and export in parts.
- File size limit: Up to 50MB per export.
- Permissions: Only users with export rights will be able to use this feature.
- Error message if large amount of data is selected:
"Export failed: The selected survey data exceeds the allowed limits (10,000 responses or 50MB file size). Please apply filters to reduce data size." - Survey responses are saved independently and won’t update even if the contact’s details change later. So whatever data was captured during the survey submission stays the same.
