This article explains how Shopify product data is mapped to Salesmate’s product module during integration. It includes field mapping rules, default behavior, auto-tagging, and variant handling to ensure product records sync accurately.
Steps to Map Shopify Product Fields:
- Navigate to the Profile icon in the top-right corner of your Salesmate account.
- Click on Setup.
- Go to App & Add-Ons.
- Click on E-Commerce.
- Locate Shopify and click Configure.
- Click on Connect New Store.
- Once the app is installed and you have completed the Customer Mapping Details, you can start product field mapping.
Auto-Tagging Products
- All products synced from Shopify are automatically tagged with SM-SHOPIFY
- You can also add additional tags to Salesmate after the sync.
Field Mapping
You can now map Shopify product fields to Salesmate product fields. The interface will display:
- Left-hand side: Shopify product fields
- Right-hand side: Salesmate product fields
Auto-Mapped Fields
The following fields will be auto-mapped and cannot be modified:
- Product Name
- Description
- Manufacturer
- Product Category
- SKU
- Price
- Stock Quantity
- Product Image
After saving your product field mappings:

Click Next to proceed to: Review Order Sync of Shopify
Note:

Mandatory Fields: Product Name, SKU, and Price must be mapped to proceed.
- If any of these fields are inactive in Salesmate, the Save button will be disabled with an error: "Required fields (Name/SKU/Price) are inactive. Enable them to proceed."

Unmapped Fields:
- If you need to sync additional fields such as weight, barcode, or dimensions, you can use the “+ Create Field” option to add custom fields in Salesmate.

Data Sync Behavior:

Products are not duplicated if the SKU matches an existing Salesmate product, it will be updated instead.
